Atlas Provider Calendar
For Jackson & Coker Locum Tenens
Designed and launched a provider calendar experience on an aggressive timeline, improving schedule visibility across desktop and mobile.

Challenge
Jackson & Coker Locum Tenens' proprietary applicant tracking and time-entry platform, Atlas, lacked several key features that would improve the provider experience, including the ability to view assignments within a familiar calendar interface. At the same time, business priorities required the feature to be designed, developed, and launched within an aggressive timeline.
Approach
To meet the accelerated delivery schedule, the UX phase was intentionally streamlined, shifting more time to development and requiring a highly collaborative, iterative design process. Design decisions were made in close partnership with Product and Engineering, balancing user needs against the constraints of the existing technology stack.
Key objectives included:
- Rapidly validating business requirements against the capabilities and limitations of the Kendo UI component library.
- Extending and optimizing Kendo UI components to support high-priority user needs, including a calendar dashboard tile that provided an at-a-glance view of pending assignments.
- Designing responsive workflows that delivered a consistent experience across desktop and mobile devices.
- Introducing a significant new feature in a way that minimized disruption for a user base known to be resistant to changes in established workflows.
Result
The provider calendar was delivered on schedule and quickly became a valued addition to the platform. The feature received positive feedback from providers, clients, and internal teams, improving assignment visibility and creating a more intuitive way for users to manage their schedules.
